While so many magazines are disappearing from the newsstand racks, some (thank God) are popping up on computer screens. The once elegant periodical Movieline has now reincarnated itself as website––movieline.com. The main editors of the site–– Seth Abramovitch, Kyle Buchanan and S.T. VanAirsdale––previously lived (and took a paycheck from) the gossip site Defamer. But as Abramovitch told the Los Angeles Times, they have shed their dishy ways: “We don't like to call it snark…We like to call it . . . maybe dry wit.” Movieline began in the 1980s as a small local listing guide and evolved into a nationally respected movie mag in the 90s. In 2003, the magazine metamorphosed into Hollywood Life, a celebrity lifestyle periodical.
